Today the Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, conveyed his congratulations to Branko Crvenkovski on his election as President of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (ª).

Today the Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, conveyed his congratulations to Branko Crvenkovski on his election as President of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (ª). He recalled and praised the consistent efforts of President Crvenkovski in his previous responsibilities for peace and stability in his country and in the wider region. He underlined the importance of the Membership Action Plan in bringing the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia closer to the Alliance and said that he is looking forward to continuing the excellent cooperation with President Crvenkovski in his new capacity.
