The Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Ambassador Alessandro Minuto Rizzo, is travelling to Madrid this afternoon to participate in the major demonstration that will take place this evening to mourn the victims of the terrorist attacks yesterday and to express the determination of all the Allies to reject and fight terrorism.

Ambassador Alessandro Minuto Rizzo will represent the Secretary General of NATO, Mr Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, who is currently on an official visit to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Secretary General strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Madrid in the statement that he issued yesterday.
