Salzburg, Austria, is currently hosting a NATO exercise - Exercise Cooperative Support 2003.

Held from 25 November to 2 December, it aims to improve military cooperation and interoperability between NATO and partner countries in the area of logistics. It revolves around a fictitious crisis response operation that involves a NATO-led Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) and focuses on NATO's logistics doctrine, policy and procedures.

Over 130 participants from 13 NATO countries, the seven invitee countries and from 11 partner countries will have the opportunity to exchange logistics information on navy, army, air force and amphibious operations (Algeria and Jordan are participating as observers). They will also discuss practical as well as more theoretical aspects of logistics during these nine days.

The exercise is being conducted under the command of the Commander-in-Chief South Atlantic (CINCSOUTHLANT), Vice Admiral Amrico da Silva Santos, Portuguese Navy. It is held every year, in the form of a seminar.
