HRH Princess Colonel Aisha Al-Hussein, sister of King Abdullah of Jordan, participated in a Mediterranean Dialogue meeting on military cooperation at NATO HQ on 12 September.

A serving Colonel in the Jordanian army, Princess Aisha delivered a presentation on the role of women in the Jordanian armed forces. The meeting involved military representatives, diplomats and defence attaches from the 19 member countries and from the seven Mediterranean Dialogue countries - Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.

Princess Aisha then held a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Alessandro Minuto Rizzo. Ambassador Rizzo welcomed, in particular, Jordan s engagement in peacekeeping operations around the world. Jordan is a very active member of NATO s Mediterranean Dialogue.
