The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, will visit Italy on 4 July 2003 to hold consultations at the outset of the Italian Presidency of the European Union. The Secretary General will meet Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Minister of Defence Antonio Martino, and the Chairmen of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees of the Chamber of Deputies, Messrs Gustavo Selva and Luigi Ramponi.

Lord Robertson will also receive the award “Knight of the Grand Cross and Order of Merit” during a ceremony at the Palazzo del Quirinale.
