Defence Ministers of NATO will hold an informal meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America, on 8 and 9 October 2003, under the chairmanship of the NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson of Port Ellen.
Defence Ministers of NATO will hold an informal meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America, on 8 and 9 October 2003, under the chairmanship of the NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson of Port Ellen. Secretary of Defence of the United States, the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, will host the meeting. Defence Ministers from the seven nations invited to join the Alliance will participate in the proceedings. The Broadmoor Hotel is the venue for the ministerial sessions. The Media Centre will be at the same location.
Applications for accreditation should be made before Friday, 29 August 2003, using the attached form that should be returned by e-mail with a passport-sized JPEG-format photograph (3.5 cm by 4.5 cm) to the following e-mail addresses:

Applications submitted without a passport-sized JPEG-format photograph will not be processed.
United States and NATO authorities reserve the right to withhold press accreditation when no application has been submitted in advance.
Press passes previously applied for will be available for collection from 09:00 hours on Sunday, 5 October, at the Accreditation Office of the Media Centre in Colorado Springs.
An ID card or passport and a valid press card (or letter of accreditation from a recognized media organization) should be presented and must be shown at any time upon request of security personnel.
All media representatives are informed that security personnel at the Media Centre will examine and may test equipment and personal effects carried onto the site. To avoid delays, media representatives are requested to arrive with sufficient time to clear the security checks. Television or radio broadcasters, wire services and photo agencies with bulky equipment are particularly urged to move most of it into the Media Centre as early as possible.
The Media Centre staffed by U.S. NATO personnel will be located in the International Centre and the Colorado Hall of the Broadmoor Hotel,

Opening hours of the Media Centre are:
Tuesday, 7 October 12:00 - 24:00 hours
Wednesday, 8 October 06:00 - end of operations
Thursday, 9 October 06:00 – end of operations
The Media Centre will be equipped with adequate workspace, communications and transmission facilities. Telephones will be activated on 7 October at 12:00 hours.
Television and radio editing rooms will be made available upon request to the Host Broadcaster.
The Host Broadcaster will install and operate comprehensive broadcast facilities inside the Conference Centre and the Media Centre for services during the meeting.

All news conferences and press briefings will take place in the Media Centre.
Media representatives are advised to use their own means of transportation to and from the airport.
Transportation to the Broadmoor Hotel will be provided from the World Arena parking lot (*see below).
Please check with the nearest United States embassy or consulate regarding visa requirements.
Garden of the Gods Travel is the travel agency in charge of managing the hotel reservations. The hotels allocated to the media are: Sheraton, Doubletree, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, La Quinta and Quality Inn and Suites.
*The Doubletree, La Quinta, Residence Inn, and the Fairfield Inn are within walking distance of the World Arena parking lot, where transportation to and from the Broadmoor Hotel will be provided. The Sheraton and Courtyard are less than 5 minutes drive to the World Arena parking lot.
Media representatives are advised to book their hotel rooms as soon as possible. Deadline for receipt of hotel booking form and payment is 15 August 2003.
