The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, will travel to Romania on 3 March 2003. This trip is part of a round of visits to all seven countries invited to join NATO at the Prague Summit in December 2002.

Lord Robertson will meet with President Ion Iliescu, Prime Minister Adrian Nastase, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mircea Geoana, Minister of Defence Ioan Pascu as well as with other members of the Cabinet. He will also meet with the Chairmen of the two chambers of Parliament and will address both chambers in a joint session.

At the NATO Studies Centre in Bucharest, Lord Robertson will be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Romanian National School for Political Studies and Public Administration.
