An air operations exercise is currently being held at Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, in Georgia, USA, 5-13 September. It is based on a peace support operation scenario and involves participants from NATO and partner countries, as well as observers from Mediterranean Dialogue countries.

The aim of this exercise is to develop interoperability between participating countries in combined air operations centre procedures. More specifically, it aims to improve specific areas of expertise such as peace support operations procedures and their use for NATO's operational planning process, generation and execution of air tasking orders, mission analysis and command and control processes.

Exercise Cooperative Zenith 2002 is being conducted by Regional Headquarters West Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia, under the command of the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT).
