Le 15 juillet, le général Harald Kujat, nouveau Président du Comité militaire, a effectué sa première visite au SHAPE (Mons).
The new Chairman of NATO's Military Committee, General Harald Kujat, paid his first visit to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Forces Europe (SHAPE) Mons, on 15 July. General Kujat, who has held this function since 3 July, is at the head of NATO's senior military decision-making authority. The two strategic commanders - the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT) both come under the authority of the Military Committee.
Upon arrival at SHAPE, General Kujat was saluted by the SHAPE's Honour Guard at the main entrance and then held a meeting with SACEUR, General Joseph Ralston. He was also briefed on current NATO issues.
