On 27 June, Lord Robertson also visited the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia¹ where he met President Trajkovski, Prime Minister Georgievski, other senior government members and members of Parliament.

In his meetings, he stressed the need for the government to fully implement the provisions of the peace deal that ended last year's conflict saying that the implementation of the agreement is the key to the country's future.

NATO maintains a presence of several hundred troops in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia¹ - Operation Amber Fox - to contribute to the protection of international monitors from the Organization for Security and Co-opearation in Europe and the European Union, who are overseeing the implementation of the peace plan signed on 13 August 2001.
