The President, Mr Rafael Estrella, and members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, together with delegations from all NATO member parliaments, came to NATO HQ on 18 February 2002, for their annual meeting with the North Atlantic Council - NATO's top decision making body.

Discussions focused on four subjects of particular concern to parliamentarians and the general public: NATO's response to the terrorist attacks against the United States, NATO-Russia relations and their evolution, the enlargement process and the strengthening of NATO's Mediterranean Dialogue after the 11 September terrorist attacks.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is an inter-parliamentary organisation, which is a forum for legislators from NATO member, as well as partner countries to meet to discuss issues of common interest and concern. Its offices are in Brussels, Belgium.
