A conference on ''NATO enlargement and security policy in the 21st century'' was held on 15-16 February in the Danish Parliament, Copenhagen.

The conference examined the issue of NATO enlargement from different perspectives -geographical, political and strategic- with particular consideration being given to the effects of the 11 September terrorist attacks on NATO's strategic thinking and NATO's relations with Russia.

The conference was organised by the Young Europeans for Security, Denmark, and co-sponsored by NATO. Attendees came from NATO as well as Central and Eastern European countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine).
