On behalf of the President of the Italian Republic, Ambassador Amedeo de Franchis, Permanent Representative of Italy to NATO, bestows the decoration of Commander of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy on Dr. Bernd Goetze in aknowledgement of his accomplishement at NATO, in particular with regard to the success of the NATO ministerial meetings and to the protracted preparation for last year's Informal meeting of Defence Ministers.
At NATO, Dr. Bernd Goetze is Deputy Executive Secretary and Head of the International Staff Ministerial Task Force.
