Parliamentarians from NATO and Partner countries gathered in Bucharest, Romania, for a seminar on ''The role of NATO in the security of the Black Sea region''. The event, organised by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in cooperation with the Romanian Chamber of Deputies from 25 to 27 October, was attended by both Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana and Defence Minister Ioan Mircea Pascu.
The seminar took place in the framework of the Rose-Roth Initiative, a programme of cooperation with the parliaments of Central and Eastern European countries, launched in 1990 by the then President of the Assembly, US Congressman Charlie Rose, and US Senator Bill Roth.
