The new Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) has been appointed: General Dieter Stöckmann of Germany will succeed General Sir Rupert Smith of the United Kingdom, who is retiring from active duty.
General Dieter Stöckmann was previously Chief of Staff at the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Command Europe (SHAPE), Mons. He will assume his new duties of DSACEUR on 17 September when the change of command ceremony takes place at the headquarters in Mons.
