On 15 August, two days after the signature of the political framework agreement between the different party representatives of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia¹, introducing internal reforms and allowing the entry of NATO-led troops into the country to disarm ethnic Albanian rebels, NATO authorised the deployment of the Headquarters of Task Force Harvest on the ground.
The Headquarters and other elements of the mission will be put into place in preparation for a potential deployment of NATO troops as part of Operation Essential Harvest.
