Media representatives from Southern Caucasia gathered in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, 25-27 June, to participate in a NATO-sponsored seminar on the "PfP programme and basic information issues".

The seminar included several round-table discussions on NATO-specific issues such as the evolution of the Alliance, its role in the Balkans and its relations with partner countries, as well as the Transatlantic link and developments in European security. Discussions also focused on the key aspects of working with NATO such as the basic goals of the PfP programme, the media and peace support operations and the importance of defence reform and the democratic control of the armed forces.

Participants included journalists from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, representatives from the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defence, from the military and from NATO.
