Aleksander Kwasniewski, the President of the Republic of Poland, paid an official visit to the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe, in Mons on 21 June.
As well as meeting with the Polish community posted at the headquarters, he discussed current NATO issues and the contribution of Poland to the Alliance with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), General Joseph W. Ralston, US Air Force. Poland's involvement in the Balkans since 1996 and progress made in defence reform since Polish membership in 1999 were among the issues raised.
