A live-flying NATO exercise called Exercise Clean Hunter 2001 is taking place, 18-29 June, over northern Europe and northern France. This annual event aims to exercise Allied Air Forces North Headquarters, based in Germany, and its subordinate combined air operations centres, maintaining their professionalism in planning and conducting co-ordinated live air operations.
Different types of aircraft and a wide range of operations will be conducted in the air, as well as on land and at sea. Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States are participating, with France joining in as part of the normal training relations established with other NATO members.
