A regional course on Civil Emergency Planning (CEP) and Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) is being held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty, 28 May - 1 June. Participants from Kazakhstan and neighbouring countries are being introduced to the organisation, functions and procedures of these two areas of activity and will exchange information on the region.
Similar courses have been conducted by NATO in other Partner countries and further courses are planned for the near future. This particular course is being jointly conducted by NATO's CEP Directorate, its CIMIC Section and the Emergency Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
