The first in a series of activities celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, which embodies NATO's partnership with Central and Eastern European countries, took place between 21-28 April. Permanent Representatives of the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia travelled to the United States to explain to various audiences the evolution in relations between the Alliance and partner countries since 1991 and possible future developments.

The Ambassadors arrived in Washington where they participated in panel discussions at the American Enterprise Institute and the Atlantic Council of the United States and were interviewed by the Washington Post. The following day, they met with members of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate before flying to New York where they participated in a public lecture at the Woodrow Wilson School of International Studies.

On 25 April, they were interviewed by the Chicago Tribune and engaged in round table discussions with the Council on Foreign Relations. During their stay in Chicago, they also met with business leaders from the National Strategic Forum and participated in a series of lectures organised by Loyola University. From Chicago, they flew to San Francisco where they made a public address at the World Affairs Council of Northern California on "The future NATO: reshaping a post-Cold War Europe". Their speaking tour finished with informal discussions with members of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
