The second to last of the five zones, which form the Ground Safety Zone (GSZ) separating Serbia and Kosovo, was handed over to Yugoslav forces on 14 April. The decision to return this section of the buffer zone to Belgrade was taken by NATO's top decision-making body - the North Atlantic Council- on 10 April.
The first of these zones was handed over last month (see NATO Update 12-18 March). The last zone that remains to be returned covers the Presevo Valley region.
