Yves Brodeur became NATO spokesman and head of the Alliance's Press and Media Service on 2 April.
Mr Brodeur, a Canadian citizen, succeeds Jamie Shea, who has been promoted to director of NATO's Office of Information and Press. He comes to Brussels from Ottawa, Canada, where he was director of the Media Relations Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Prior to taking up that post, Mr Brodeur was head of the political section at the Canadian Mission to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. Before that, he was departmental spokesman and press secretary of Canada's foreign minister.
