Air force personnel from six NATO member countries are participating in a logistics exercise in Greece from 2 to 6 April. Participants from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy and Turkey are currently training at the Greek airbase of Nea Anchialos to practice servicing and handling fighter aircraft from other NATO countries.

The aim of Exercise Ample Train 2001 is to allow ground crews to acquire experience in aircraft cross-servicing so that aircraft from any of the member countries participating in the aircraft cross-servicing programme can be maintained and continue their missions. The exercise is being conducted by Allied Air Forces Southern Europe (AIRSOUTH) based in Naples, under the authority of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons.
