The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Yves Brodeur as Spokesman for NATO and Head of the Press and Media Service. Mr. Brodeur succeeds Dr. Jamie Shea. This appointment became effective on 2 April 2001.
Mr. Brodeur is Canadian. Before joining NATO, he was Director of the Media Relations Office at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa, Canada. Prior to that, he was Head of the Political section at the Mission of Canada to the European Union in Brussels. Before his posting to Brussels, Mr. Brodeur was Departmental Spokesman and Press Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
