The Polish President, Aleksander Kwasniewski, discussed the modernisation and restructuring of the Polish army with Lord Robertson during a visit to NATO HQ on 28 November. Both agreed that much had been achieved but much remained to be done, for instance regarding full interoperability with NATO forces. They also discussed the situation in the Balkans, the European Security and Defence Identity and the role of Poland in Central Europe.
