Lieutenant General Thorstein Skiaker, Norwegian Army, will assume the responsibility to serve as Commander of KFOR, the NATO peace support mission in Kosovo, effective in spring 2001.
General Skiaker's nomination has been approved by NATO's Military Committee following the recommendation of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Joseph W. Ralston, in his capacity as the commander of Strategic Command Europe.
General Skiaker is currently Commander, Joint Command North.
