NATO condemns the recent attacks against border guards of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia . NATO is committed to cooperating with the authorities of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (*) to strengthen security at the border. The Secretary General received yesterday a letter from President Boris Trajkovski requesting further consultations with KFOR and possible NATO assistance on border security matters. NATO Allies will be considering these issues in the coming days.
(*) Turkey recognizes the Republic of Macedonia with its constitutional name.
