Ties with Ukraine were further reinforced on 22 May with the visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yuschenko to NATO HQ. This followed the visit of Admiral Venturoni, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, to Ukraine from 17 to 19 May. The Admiral's visit included a tour of the Yavoriv Training Centre, designated as a Partnership for Peace training Centre in March 1999. These centres offer courses and training facilities for NATO's member and Partner countries, enabling them to conduct military exercises together. Admiral Venturoni also discussed NATO-Ukraine cooperation with National Security Adviser Marchuk and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tarasyuk.
