Exclusively an air force exercise, Clean Hunter 2000 is currently being held in the north of France (22 May-16 June), with live-flying between 5-9 and 13-16 June. The exercise aims to train participants in tactical air operations, and help evaluate and practice joint regulations and procedures between NATO members. It also aims to exercise tactical missile defence capabilities.
Thirteen of NATO's 19 members are participating: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. France, although not part of NATO's military command structure, has joined the exercise under normal training relations established between NATO members. Recently, the first ever PfP exercise was held in the south of France.
