A rapid reaction exercise code-named "Ardent Ground 2000" is being held at the Varpalota training area in Hungary from 29 April to 13 May. Over 2000 troops from Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States are participating.
This joint live firing and air operations is an annual exercise organised for the Ace Mobile Force (Land) (AMF(L). The AMF(L) is a rapid reaction force trained to deploy within 72 hours. It comes under the command of SACEUR and comprises 17 NATO countries.
