NATO's Parliamentary Assembly decided to freeze attempts to resume relations with the Russian Duma on 8 April. This decision came in response to a letter received from the Speaker of the Russian Parliament who stated that the meeting proposed by the Assembly with the Duma for mid-April was "premature". This development comes after NATO-Russia relations were fully resumed on 15 March 2000.
