The second round of municipal elections since the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords in 1995 was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 8 April. Votes were cast to elect representatives in all but one of the country's 146 municipalities (elections in Srebenica will be held in October 2000) for a four-year term.

Municipal representatives are responsible for the basic day-to-day needs of the populations of the two entities (the Federation and the Republika Srpska). Full election results are not yet available but preliminary results are available at: http://www.oscebih.org
