The Hungarian reserve forces association has been admitted as a member of the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers (CIOR), thus bringing all 18 NATO member countries' associations under its umbrella (Iceland is the exception, not having armed forces). At its annual Mid-Winter Meeting at NATO Headquarters 10-12 February, CIOR also admitted Slovenia as the seventh associate member, joining Austria, Estonia, Finland, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland in the same category. Lithuania is next in line, with its application for associate status pending and Croatia, which is not yet a NATO Partner, has already signalled its interest in establishing a relationship with CIOR. To enable reservists from new member and associate countries to participate efficiently in CIOR work, the organisation is embarking on a programme of language training. The first language course will take place this July in Prague.
