The President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic and NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson met this afternoon at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. President Djukanovic briefed Lord Robertson on the situation in Montenegro and more generally in the Balkan region. The two also had a general exchange of views on recent developments in Kosovo and Serbia. Lord Robertson emphasized the need for all leaders in the Balkan region to work for stability and democratization, and assured President Djukanovic of the continued support of the Allies for President Djukanovic's democratically-elected government and its efforts to promote political and economic reforms in Montenegro.
