The Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana, will visit Spain on Thursday, 30 September 1999.

During this visit, Dr. Solana will also be received by His Majesty the King of Spain, and will meet with the President of the Government and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence.

The Secretary General will attend the ceremony of inauguration of the Headquarters of the new NATO Joint Subregional Command (Southwest), located on the outskirts of Madrid.
