The Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana, will visit the United States from 18th to 20th September, and 22nd September to 24th September 1999.

During his visit the Secretary General will meet with President Clinton, Secretary of State Albright, Secretary of Defense Cohen and National Security Advisor Berger. Additionally, Dr. Solana will address the National Defense University in Washington, DC, on Thursday 23rd September, participate in a seminar at the Headquarters of the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic, in Norfolk, Virginia on Friday, 24th September, and is scheduled to make media appearances in both New York City and Washington, DC.

On 21st and 22nd September, Dr. Solana will be in Toronto, Canada to attend the informal meeting of NATO Defence Ministers, scheduled to take place there.
