NATO Secretary General, Dr. Javier Solana will visit France on Monday, 8 March 1999.

During his visit, the Secretary General will meet with President Jacques Chirac and the Minister of Defence, M. Alain Richard. He will also deliver a speech at the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN).

At the end of his meeting with the Secretary General, President Jacques Chirac will bestow on him the insignia of Commander in the Order of the Legion of Honour.
