The Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana, will visit Canada on 11 and 12 February, 1999. During his visit he will meet with the Prime Minister, Mr. Jean Chrétien, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lloyd Axworthy and the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Arthur Eggleton.
In addition to these meetings, the Secretary General will speak at the National Press Club in Ottawa on 12 February and later will give a lunchtime speech on "Transatlantic Relations in the XXIst Century" to the Empire Club of Canada and the Atlantic Council of Canada at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
