The Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana, will pay an official visit to the United States on 18, 19 and 20 November, 1998. On Wednesday 18 November, the Secretary General will meet with United Nations' Secretary General Kofi Annan in New York. In Washington, he will meet with Senior Administration officials and Senators on 19 and 20 November.

On the evening of 18 November, the Secretary General will receive the Golden Medal Award from the Spanish Institute of the University of New York.
