A Workshop on "Polish Experiences in Defense
Conversion" as scheduled in the 1995 Workplan of the
North Atlantic Cooperation Council (NACC), will be held
from 21 to 24 May 1995 in Warsaw and Lowicz, Poland.
The Workshop is prepared and organized by the NATO
Economics Directorate in conjunction with the Polish
authorities. The Polish coordinator is the Central
Office of Planning in Warsaw.

The Workshop will bring together an expected 80 experts
from Allied and Cooperation partner countries for
briefings, discussions and visits of the converted
facilities. The Workshop will focus on practical
aspects of conversion - related to defense industry,
military science and military infrastructure - in
Poland during the current phase of economic transition.

On 22 May, a general briefing session in the Ministry
of Defense Conference Center will be followed by visits
to the Industrial Center of Optics and the Military
University of Technology, both located in Warsaw.

On 23 May the Workshop will visit the premises left by
a Russian army unit in Lowicz (80 km from Warsaw): the
area has been transformed in part into the Headquarters
of the local fire-brigade and, for another part, into a
Theological Seminary.

On 24 May a concluding session will take place in the
Ministry of Defense Conference Center. This final
discussion will be followed by a Press conference at
approximately 11:15 hours.

"EXPERIENCES DE LA POLOGNE EN MATIERE DE CONVERSION
DES INDUSTRIES DE DEFENSE"

Comme prevu dans le Programme de travail 1995 du

Direction economique de l'OTAN, en liaison avec les

L'atelier, qui devrait reunir quatre-vingts experts de
