NATO aircraft on Wednesday afternoon returned to the
area of north-west Bosnia-Herzegovina and conducted a
strike on a surface-to-air missile site south of Otoka.

During reconnaissance missions earlier today, this site,
which, Tuesday had fired at two NATO aircraft,
illuminated the reconnaissance aircraft in a threatening
way. As earlier announced, self-defence measures were
taken immediately.

Since it was clear that the site posed a continued
threat to Deny Flight aircraft, operating in support of
UNPROFOR, an airstrike was initiated this afternoon, in
close coordination with the Force Commander, UNPROFOR.

Advisory to news media: Details on the scheduling of any
news briefings will be announced by the Public
Information Office, Allied Forces Southern Europe,
Naples (Phone: Int'l: 39-81 721 22 63).
