A Workshop on Practical Defence Conversion Activities, as
scheduled in the 1994 Workplan of the North Atlantic
Cooperation Council (NACC), will be held from 19-21
October 1994 in Potsdam and Pinnow (Land of Brandenburg),
Germany.

The German hosts are the Federal Ministry for Economic
Affairs and the Ministry of Economics, Medium-sized
Enterprises and Technology of the Land of Brandenburg. A
majorcontribution to the programme is provided by Buck

The Workshop will unite some 70 experts from Allied and

practical experiences in the field of defence conversion.
Participants (government officials, industrialists and
academics) will visit a military installation of the
former GDR's National People's Army in Gross Glienicke in

the production sites of Buck Inpar GmbH in Pinnow near
Schwedt on the river Oder - the location of one of the
most important armament factories of the former GDR - will
be visited. Several conversion areas - e.g. in the field
of construction, industrial, medical and environmental
technologies - will be demonstrated.

A press briefing will be held on Friday, 21 October, 11:30
