The new Secretary General of NATO, Mr. Willy Claes, will
take up his duties on 17 October. He will arrive at NATO
Headquarters at 08:30,when he will be welcomed at the Main
Entrance by the Deputy Secretary General,Ambassador Sergio
Balanzino.
Subsequently, the new Secretary General will meet with
close collaborators and senior NATO staff members.

08:30 Arrival of the new Secretary General at
NATO's Main Entrance.
Welcome by Deputy Secretary General,
Ambassador Sergio Balanzino and
the Director of the Private Office, Dr.
Klaus Scharioth. The new Secretary
General will briefly address the media and
answer a few questions.
OPEN coverage on a first-come-first-served
basis. Media wishing to cover
the Secretary General's arrival will be
allowed onto the NATO premises from
07:30 onwards, and should take up their
positions before 08:10.
Due to space restrictions the NATIP pool will
cover other events inside the Headquarters
during the morning and will make video footage
and still pictures, which will be available as
quickly as possible:

ACCREDITATION
Journalists wishing to cover the arrival of the new
Secretary General will be allowed onto the NATO premises
on presentation of a NATO accreditation pass or a valid
press pass.
PARKING
