The President of Germany, Dr. Roman Herzog, will pay an
official visit to NATO Headquarters on Wednesday, 12
October 1994. President Herzog will meet the Acting
Secretary General, Ambassador Sergio Balanzino, and
address the North Atlantic Council. The visit will begin
at 09:45. The President's departure is expected at 11:15.

MEDIA ADVISORY

09:45 NATO Main Entrance. Arrival of President
Herzog Unlimited coverage on a first-come,
first-served basis. The President will be met
by the Acting Secretary General.

09:50 Secretary General's Private Office. Bilateral
meeting between the Acting Secretary General
and President Herzog. In view of the limited
space available, only photo coverage at the
beginning by a restricted pool will be
authorized.

10:20 Room 16, North Atlantic Council session. Shake-
hands with Ambassadors and Welcoming Speeches
by the Acting Secretary General and the Dean of
the Council, Ambassador Bierring, followed by a
speech by President Herzog.
There will be unlimited access to the gallery
of Room 16 and a restricted camera pool inside
the horseshoe.

11:00 End of Council meeting.
The Acting Secretary General and the German
President will possibly meet the Press at
NATO's Main Entrance.

11:15 Departure.

All events at NATO will be broadcast via CCTV to the NATO
Press Centre.

Journalists will be allowed onto the NATO premises on
presentation of a NATO accreditation pass or a valid
press pass.

Correspondents are advised that they will not be able to
bring vehicles into the NATO compound but that a shuttle
bus service will be provided between the carpark outside
the NATO main gate and the NATO Press Service entrance.

his visit to Brussels later in the afternoon, at 14:30 at
the International Press Centre (IPC) in Brussels.
