A NACC Seminar entitled "Civil Protection for Changing
Times" will be held in Romania from the 19th until the
22nd September 1994.

A hundred radiological and medical experts responsible
for civil protection and nuclear disaster response from
22 countries will meet at the Conference Centre Neptun in
Neptun (Constanta County). This meeting will provide a
unique opportunity to exchange views on how crisis
related civil defence programmes are being reoriented to
all hazards emergency management (including radiological
accidents). Topics such as the role of international
organizations in nuclear disaster response, the need for
information management and bilateral arrangements for
disaster assistance will be discussed among the
participants. One session will be devoted to Decision
Support Systems for Emergency Management, using map based
computer applications.

Countries represented will be: Bulgaria, Canada, Czech
Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan,
Kyrghyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal,
Russia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and
the United States.
