INFORMATION

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Askar Akayev, will come
to NATO Headquarters on 1 June 1994 to sign the
Partnership for Peace Framework Document. He will meet
the Deputy Secretary General and the Permanent
Representatives to the North Atlantic Council. The visit
will begin at 11:30. Mr. Akayev's departure is expected
at 14:15.

PROGRAMME OF THE VISIT

11:25 - NATO main entrance. Arrival of Mr. Akayev.
Open coverage on a first-come, first-served basis.

11:30 - Bilateral meeting with Deputy Secretary General.
In view of the limited space available, only a
restricted pool will be authorized to cover the
beginning of the meeting.

12:00 - Room 1: North Atlantic Council session.
Introductory remarks by the Deputy Secretary General,
followed by Mr. Akayev's reply. Signing of Partnership
for Peace Framework Document by the President of
Kyrgyzstan. Coverage within the conference room by a
restricted pool.

14:00 - NATO main entrance. Meeting with the press.
Departure of the President of Kyrgyzstan at about 14:15.

 

ACCREDITATION

Journalists wishing to cover the visit of the President
of Kyrgyzstan will be allowed into the NATO premises on
presentation of a NATO accreditation pass or a valid
press pass. Photographers and cameramen wishing to be
part of the Restricted Pool should contact Mr. G. De
Brouwer.

PARKING

Correspondents are advised that they will not be able to
bring vehicles into the NATO compound but that a shuttle
bus service will be provided between the car-park
outside the NATO main gate and the NATO Press Service
entrance.
