INFORMATION

The Foreign Minister of Sweden, Baroness Margaretha af
Ugglas, and the Foreign Minister of Finland, Mr. Heikki
Haavisto, will come to NATO Headquarters on 9 May 1994 to
sign the Partnership for Peace Framework Document. They
will meet the Deputy Secretary General and the Permanent
Representatives to the North Atlantic Council. The visit
will begin at 17:00. Their departure is expected at
18:10.

PROGRAMME OF THE VISIT

16:55- NATO main entrance. Arrival of Baroness
af Ugglas and Mr. Haavisto. Open coverage
on a first-come, first-served basis.

17:00- Trilateral meeting with the Deputy
Secretary General in the Private Office.
In view of the limited space available,
only a restricted pool will be authorized
to cover the beginning of the meeting.

17:30- Room 1: North Atlantic Council Session.
Introductory remarks by the Deputy
Secretary General, followed by replies by
Mr. Haavisto and Baroness af Ugglas.
Signing of Partnership for Peace Framework
Documents by the Swedish and Finnish
Foreign Ministers. Coverage within the
conference room by a restricted pool.

18:00- NATO main entrance. Meeting with the
press. Departure of the Swedish and
Finnish Foreign Ministers at about 18:10.

 

 

ACCREDITATION

Journalists wishing to cover the visit of the Foreign
Ministers of Sweden and Finland will be allowed onto NATO
premises on presentation of a NATO accreditation pass or
a valid press pass. Photographers and cameramen wishing
to be part of the Restricted Pool should contact
Mr. G. De Brouwer.

PARKING

Correspondents are advised that they will not be able to
bring vehicles into the NATO compound but that shuttle
bus service will be provided between the car-park outside
the NATO main gate and the NATO Press Service entrance.
