"During these crucial times President Ozal proved to be a great leader and will be sadly missed, not only by Turkey, but by Europe and the world as a whole."
Mr. Worner emphasized the great political skill which had won forPresident Ozal and for Turkey the great respect that they command inthe Alliance. The Secretary General of NATO expressed, in particular,his admiration for President Ozal's firm commitment and unwaveringloyalty to the North Atlantic Alliance.
