NATO Secretary General to participate in discussion on Climate Security (online)

On 08 November 2022 the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will open the High-Level Discussion on Climate Security, organised by the Munich Security Conference (MSC) at this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The Secretary General will engage in an online conversation with the MSC Chairman, Ambassador Christoph Heusgen. This will be followed by a high-level discussion on action for climate and security in the Middle East and Africa, with Ms. Jennifer Morgan, Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the German Federal Foreign Office, Ms. Khadiija Maxamed Al Makhzoumin, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia, and Mr. David Van Weel, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges.

The event is hosted in cooperation with NATO and the German Federal Foreign Office.
